Thomas Muller: Pep Guardiola knows Barcelona better than anyone

Bayern Munich players are ready to take on Barcelona in the Champions League and are confident Pep Guardiola can help them beat his former side.

"We know their potential. They have a great squad, covering Messi as a defender is not comfortable. But we are preparing well. The coach knows Barcelona better than anyone. He will give us the recipe in our hands, the rest we need to do as players," said Thomas Muller. 

Muller also praised Barcelona but said he was optimistic, in an interview on the Bayern official site. 

"We know that Barcelona are one of the best teams in the world. They have knocked out two huge teams in the Champions League. But I am optimistic. I'm confident in us, we want to win there.

"We have pressure, regardless. If we are knocked out neither the fans or the press say 'Well, it was Barcelona and that's that'. No, everyone has expectations. We are Bayern and we will not hide." 

Muller has a great memory of Bayern's 7-0 win on aggregate over Barcelona in the 2013 Champions League, which was a "great experience" and allows his side "to jump to the Camp Nou with positive feelings.

"We played brilliantly and amazed everyone in the football world."
