Schalke's Leroy Sane: My dream is to play for a big club like Barça

Schalke’s Leroy Sane is a player who has been a revelation in the Bundesliga this season. The son of former Senegalese footballer Souleymane Sane is one of the players who has been watched by Barcelona. Half of Europe are interested, in fact, but the winger has his preferences. 

In quotes to German newspaper Bild ahead of the game with Borussia Dortmund, the player has said his short term future is with Schalke. However, he didn’t hide his desire to one day play for Barça.  

“When I speak with my dad, he always tells me that it’s good for me to play with Schalke,” he said. However, he added: “It’s no secret that some time in the future I would like to play abroad and at an even bigger club than Schalke. Most of all at Barça, even as a little boy, that was my dream club."

But that dream may have to wait. The 20-year-old committed his immediate future to his current club. ”I think next season I will play at Schalke," he added.
