Pep Guardiola: "Lionel Messi record will not last 60 years... more like 600"

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has hailed his former prodigy Lionel Messi.

The Barcelona striker who was helped by the coach during four years at the club broke the all-time top goalscoring record in La Liga on Saturday, netting a hat-trick against Sevilla to go above Telmo Zarra's previous total of 251, to 253. 

Guardiola said that Messi's record will stand for 600 years and that he should stay with the club he loves until he retires. 

Pep stated: "He is only 27 years old and he has already beaten the record. His record will not last for 60 years, but 600 years.

"I hope that Messi will end his career with Barcelona, because he has given so much to the club and he loves the club."
