Pep Guardiola cancels his press appearance on Bayern's 'Open Media Day'

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola suspended a press conference he was suppose to be giving on Wednesday.

Press from all over the world had assembled in Munich for 'Open Media Day', with the aim being to preview the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Guardiola and four players were set to attend the event exactly one week ahead of the match with Barcelona.

But it didn't work out like that.

Minutes after 11am, when things were getting underway, the Bavarian club announced that Guardiola would not be appearing.

The injuries suffered on Tuesday night had compromised the time the Catalan coach had available to him, the club explained.

There were plenty of Catalan journalists present and they were all affected by the change.

As compensation, Bayern added former Barça player Thiago Alcantara to the list of players due to speak to the media.

In this sense, Bayern showed that they were sorry that Pep was unable to speak -- which was not the case at Manchester City, when Pellegrini prevented his players talking to the press.

Guardiola has six players missing. Ribery, Alaba, Starke and Badstuber were already sidelined, but they were joined on Tuesday by Robben and Lewandowski.
