The Bayern president met with Guardiola and told him who will replace Ancelotti

The Manchester City coach was in agreement with the decision the club have made

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has confirmed he met with Pep Guardiola and the two spoke about who would take over as the German club's manager.

Carlo Ancelotti was sacked last week and Thomas Tuchel and Luis Enrique are among the candidates to replace the Italian.

Speaking to Abendzeitung, Hoeness said his meeting with Guardiola was a friendly one and that he told him who would be the next Bayern boss.

"It was purely a friendly get-together, but of course we exchanged ideas," Hoeness said. "I told him who we are going to appoint in the coming days. He was in agreement."

According to Hoeness, Guardiola promised him that he would visit every year during Oktoberfest in the German city.

"It was a wonderful meeting, we renewed our friendship, but that's all it was," Hoeness said to speculation he could try to bring the Manchester City coach back to the Bundesliga.

Guardiola was Bayern coach between 2013 and 2016 and won the Bundesliga three times and the German Cup twice.
