Guardiola to replace Pellegrini at Man City?

Former Barcelona boss Josep Guardiola has already agreed a deal to move to Manchester City and replace Manuel Pellegrini next summer, according to reports on Cadena COPE in the early hours of Friday morning.

The Bayern Munich head coach's contract expires in the summer and he's yet to commit to another year with the German champions.

That could be, if COPE's reports are to be believed, because he is planning a move to the Premier League - a league which he has never hidden his desire to coach in.

It's suggested both Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain have been key in persuading him to move to Manchester.

The Catalan coach has been in charge of Bayern for two and a half years now, following a one year break from football after leaving Barcelona.

He has won two Bundesliga titles, but he has come up short in the Champions League on two occasions - losing to Barça last season in the semi-final.

Speaking recently, Bayern president Karl Heinz Rummenigge didn't seem overly concerned about the idea of losing Pep.

"In clubs, players come and go, as do managers - there isn't anybody who can't be replaced," he said.

As a replacement for Guardiola, COPE suggest Bayern would be interested in Carlo Ancelotti, although he too has spoken of his desire to return to the English top flight.
