Bayern Munich 6-1 Porto (7-4): Goals galore for Pep Guardiola's side

Bayern Munich were much more recognisable as they swept Porto aside 6-1 on Tuesday night, winning 7-4 on aggregate and advancing to the last four of the Champions League.

Josep Guardiola's side had their touch and their pressing back, blowing away their Portuguese opposition in the first half and keeping alive the treble dream.

After a shock defeat at Do Dragao, which included several individual errors, Bayern came into the match at the Allianz Arena as a wounded animal. And the reaction came in capital letters, with Bavarians producing a sensational display.

Their touch and combination play, their diagonal passes and their pressing proved the key to this match.

Thiago Alcantara has clearly recovered from his injury and he is keen to prove a point. He scored in Porto and he scored the first goal here.

His goal was followed by four more in the first half. Boateng, Lewandowski (2) and Muller helping Guardiola's side into a 5-0 lead at the break.

With qualification for the semi-final in their sight, the second half was a much calmer affair. While Lopetegui jumped up and down on the sideline, looking for a reaction from his players, Bayern kept everything under control.

Porto did get one back, though, when Jackson Martinez found a goal.

However, Bayern responded with another of their own. Former Real Madrid player Xabi Alonso putting the cherry on a convincing performance.
