You can cherish Pep Guardiola's Barça side but you shouldn't expect a repeat
Today is the fifth anniversary of of the 'sextuple', which Barcelona completed by winning the Club World Cup against Estudiantes de La Plata.
It was the climax of the best Barça in history, led by Pep Guardiola. A Barça that, sadly, now has passed and will not return. Cules have to learn to live with the memory of that unique team, but also with the reality that it will never be the same.
Luis Enrique's Barcelona, or any other Barça which is built in the future, will never reach the level of that Guardiola side.
It is impossible to repeat that level of football perfection and exxellence. They could win titles. They could win lots. But we must forget any comparison with that past glory. Because it will not be repeated.
We can enjoy the videos of the 'Pep Team'; the historic covers of SPORT will stay with us; we will explain to our kids and grandchildren that we lived during these spectacular years.
The two Champions League wins, the three la Liga titles, the 5-0 against Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid at Camp Nou and the 6-2 win at the Bernabeu... And we can learn to enjoy everything good that comes from now. Without comparisons.
