Xavi: "The first goal paved the way for Barça's win against Eibar"

Xavi Hernandez shone as Barcelona eventually overcame a resilient Eibar side at Camp Nou on Saturday evening.

The Basque town has a population of just 27,000, a number which wouldn't even fill Camp Nou if you multiplied it by three, but they matched Barça for large parts of the encounter.

However, once Xavi, who captained Luis Enrique's side, opened the scoring, it was game over.

"When the first goal goes in everything becomes easier," the 34-year-old explained after the 3-0 win, which also saw Neymar and Lionel Messi score.

"In the second half, [Eibar] were more tired.

"It was no accident, though, we won because we all worked really hard.

"Every single one of us has worked collectively and the team has done a good job.

"We played well. We are working hard and we have enjoyed [the Eibar game]."

On the Clasico, which will take place next Saturday, Xavi pointed out that three points against Ajax is the most important thing for the time being.

In the meantime, make sure you see this piece of skill from the Barça midfielder which highlights how he still has a big role to play for Barça:
