In quotes to El mon a RAC 1, the former Barcelona player highlighted the huge figures which are under suspision.
The midfielder said he was "surprised by the thing with Cristiano, it’s a stratospheric figure. But I don't know if the agent did things well or [if it's true]."
During his time at Barcelona, Xavi was one of the members of the squad that had a contentious relationship with the tax authorities in Spain. The midfielder highlighted the interpretation problems which sometimes generate conflict with treasury.
“You always try to do things in line with the law, but even so, the tax office could consider they haven’t been done accordingly," he added.
Currently there are various Barça and ex-Barça players with past and present tax problems, including Lionel Messi, Adriano, Samuel Eto'o and Javier Mascherano.
