Xavi on Lionel Messi-Lucho fight, Jeremy Mathieu's comments, and Neymar

Barcelona captain Xavi Hernandez gave a press conference on Friday afternoon ahead of Sunday's match with Villarreal at Camp Nou.

Among other things, the 34-year-old midfielder spoke about the fall out between Lionel Messi and Luis Enrique at the start of the month, Neymar and about his own future at the Catalan club.

Here are the highlights:

Messi/Lucho fight: "These are situations that happen throughout the season. It's normal. We all want to win and do as well as possible and that can generate tension, but it's nothing more than that.

"Honestly, we have a great atmosphere among us and we're going to fight for everything."

Mathieu's clumsy comments: "You [the journalists] ask about what happened, but we didn't give it too much importance.

"What happened has happened and it may happen again with other players. That's part of football. I've seen 200 situations like [Messi and Enrique fall out] since I've been a footballer."

Atletico's anger: "What happened at the Vicente Calderon is for the Committee and the referees to sort out. It is not homework for footballers.

"Speaking of those type of things generates controversy and means we talk less about football."

Neymar: "He has a way of playing which is really skillful, so he gets kicks, but he is used to that.

"The most important thing is that he is happy here. He's already making the difference at a club like Barca and he's only 22."

The future: "I am happy. I'm really enjoying myself because the team is going through a great run of form.

"In the next few months I will think about what decision to take."
