Xavi Hernandez tells SPORT he never spoke to The Sun about Dele Alli
The former Barça midfielder says he did not give an interview to the newspaper
He also tells SPORT he's never spoke about Guardiola's interest in Dele Alli
Former Barcelona captain Xavi Hernandez denies that he made any comments to The Sun about Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola supposedly wanting Dele Alli.
According to the quotes, Xavi had said that Guardiola wanted City to sign the 21-year-old midfielder this summer.
The quotes had huge consequences and on Wednesday Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino called Xavi his "enemy".
However, now playing in Qatar, Xavi has told SPORT that he "never" gave an interview to The Sun, "never" spoke about the England international and, therefore, "neither" did he speak about City's interest in him.
Tottenham are keen to keep hold of Dele Alli and are not considering selling him this summer, despite widespread reports of interest.
