Xavi Hernandez says he couldn't hold back the tears in La Liga bow

Xavi Hernandez has waved goodbye to the Camp Nou in the best way, celebrating a title. The central midfielder from Terrassa had a fine game, which was also a homage to him.

From a "photo-call" outside the stadium to a mosaic and banner inisde, Camp Nou was filled with people hailing the midfielder. Barcelona's No 6 received unerring support throughout the game.

Afterwards he took the trophy from RFEF chief Villar, and did a lap of the pitch with his team-mates, before giving a speech.

"Good evening everyone and thank you for everything," he said. "Today I'm the happiest the man in the world and I have been for the last 17 seasons that I have spent here. I would like to thank my family, my wife, my friends and everyone here.

"You have been unconditional, you are all fantastic. Barca is the best club in the world. And to finish, as the mister [Luis Enrique] has said, this is not the end. We want two more titles and we want to be with you all [celebrating] in Barcelona on June 7th. Visca Barca, visca Catalunya!"

He also spoke to Canal+, about the tears he was holding back as he was substituted for Andres Iniesta.

"It was impossible not to cry," he told Canal+. "I tried to control my emotions, but in the end it wasn't possible. I'll miss everything about Barca.

"I've tried to take everything in, but it has been impossible. I have so many sensations, so many extraordinary memories. I couldn't be happier. I have had a fantastic career. And it's still not over. We have the league and now we have two finals, even though [the treble] will not be easy.

"I'm going to miss Barca more than Barca misses me. I've spent 25 years in this shirt. My whole life. Barcelona [the club] is above any person. I'm grateful to those who have never let me down, those that have been there for me throughout my whole life."
