Xavi Hernandez insists Luis Enrique's Barcelona is "on the right track"

Xavi Hernandez is comfortable with Luis Enrique. The first few months with the Asturian coach have been positive for the player from Terrassa.

He confirmed on Monday that he is not planning on leaving in the January transfer window. "No I insist, I will stay. I am not going anywhere until I finish my contract, and when I finish we will see."

The Barcelona captain said he liked working with Enrique. "He's a smart guy who has clear ideas and personality. We are 100 percent with the coach. His philosophy is to play well and win."

With these principles Xavi says he feels "useful and important to the group."

The midfielder acknowledged that "against Almeria we did not have our best game or play our best football. But we're on the right track and I mean that sincerely. I believe and the squad and staff believe, and if things don't go our way and we win, so much the better.

"This team has a lot of room for improvement, we have the humility to be self-critical."

Xavi said that Gerard Pique, who has been criticised recently was vital for the club.

"He's a fundamental, vital and basic player for the club. You have to ask Luis Enrique why he's not playing. I see him training well, motivated and at 100 percent. It's the coaches decision and must be respected."
