Xavi Hernandez could reach 500 games against Espanyol

Xavi Hernandez started in La Liga at 18 years old. Now he's 35. In these 17 years, he's played 499 league games and at against Espanyol on Saturday, he could become the first Barcelona player ever to hit 500. 

He made his debut in the competition in 1998 in the Mestalla, with Barcelona winning 3-1 against Valencia. 

Xavi's 499 games have come with 317 wins, 106 draws and 76 defeats. He has played 38,897 minutes and scored 57 goals. 

He has won seven league titles, 1998-99 with Louis van Gaal, 2004-05, 2005-06, with Rijkaard, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 with Pep Guardiola, and 2012-13 with Tito Vilanova. 

The teams he's played most against have been Espanyol (30 times), Real Madrid (29), Athletic, Sevilla, Valencia (27), Atletico (25) and Osasuna and Villarreal (24).

The results most repeated have been 1-1 (47 games), 2-1 (37), 2-0 (34) and 3-0 (33). 

He played most under Rijkaard (158 games), then Guardiola (131), then Van Gaal (60), Rexach (38), Martino (30), Vilanova (30, four of which were under Roura), Enrique (25), Serra Ferrer (17), Antic (9), De la Cruz (1).
