The exit of Xavi brings to an end a spell which Xavi started as an 11 year old, and includes 17 seasons of first-team football. That includes the most glorious period of the club's history, between 2008 and 2013.

Xavi, a symbol of the Barcelona style, has put his footballing stamp on the Spanish national team too, winning the World Cup and two European championships. Now he has two final titles to win while playing for Barcelona, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

But before that...

In the game, socios and other fans at the game will create a commemorative mosaic for the league title, and a tifo to say goodbye to Xavi. The homage continues on the pitch, with Barcelona stars wearing a special message to the midfielder on their shirts, reading "Gracies Xavi - 23 May 2015."

At the end of the game, Angel Maria Villar will present Xavi, the captain, with the La Liga trophy - his eighth title triumph. Events will close with a video triubute to the midfield maestro.
