Xavi and Co back to business after World Cup

Barcelona players who were eliminated with their countries at the group stage of the World Cup have been reincorporated on Thursday, undergoing medical tests.

Xavi, who will remain with the club at least until January was among them, with Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta, Pedro, Alex Song and Ivan Rakitic all coming back.

The tests were undertaken at the Sant Joan Despi medical centre.

They had analytical tests, before biomechanical analysis, electrocardio, stress and ultrasound tests too.

It had been expected that Xavi would leave this summer, with New York City FC one of the most likely destinations.

They unveiled midfielder Frank Lampard on Thursday, as a signing for the new season.
