With Villarreal, Man City and Madrid to face, March is Barça's key month

The month of March has just begun and it is set to be key for Barcelona as they look to continue their participation in all three competitions.

Luis Enrique's men are the only side in la Liga who can still aspire to win three trophies, with the first obstacle to clear a trip to Villarreal on Wednesday night in search of a place in the Copa del Rey final.

With a 3-1 advantage from the first leg, Barça go into the return leg as favourites, but Villarreal have already demonstrated this season that they are a dangerous side.

They impressed at Camp Nou twice in January and held Real Madrid to a point at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

Marcelino's side will not throw in the towel and their young squad will fight for their lives for the chance to make it to the King's Cup final.

Barça's next key date is against Manchester City at Camp Nou on March 18. Barcelona also have an advantage in that tie, having won 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

A place in the Champions League quarter-final is up for grabs.

If these two matches go to plan, Barça will then take on their third final of March in a positive mood: the Clasico against Real Madrid

The date of the fixture is March 22 and the location is Camp Nou -- it is the last Liga match before a break for internationals.

A victory, providing Barça don't slip up against Rayo Vallecano or Eibar in the coming weeks, would move Lucho's side to the top of the table.

A defeat would keep Madrid in the driving seat and hand Los Blancos the head-to-head advantage.
