Aleix Vidal has seen his minutes dramatically reduce in recent weeks

Valverde prefers to work with a smaller squad and players will leave

Barcelona are working on squad changes for January. Coach Ernesto Valverde has already said that he's ready to improve his hand, but also that he doesn't like working with big squads.

In that sense, the top candidate to leave at the moment is Aleix Vidal. The winger has the chance to return to Sevilla and is looking into moving on from Camp Nou. With minutes becoming limited under Valverde, he could accept the chance to go back to the Sanchez Pizjuan, which he considers home.

Vidal would leave initially on loan, with an option for Sevilla to buy him at the end of the season for a fee of around 10 million euros.

The other player who could leave is Thomas Vermaelen. The Belgian defender wants to re-find some form before the World Cup and would be prepared to leave on loan -- he just wants to play.

Denis SuArez & AlcACer

Among the younger players, Denis Suarez and Paco Alcacer are the two players drawing a lot of interest. However, for now, Valverde is counting on them both and only a huge ofer would be considered. Denis started at Olympiakos and everything suggests he will play more in the comin weeks due to the injuries in midfield. Alcacer is back in the squad and scored in the Copa del Rey.

Another player who could leave is Andre Gomes. While Valverde's defender him, the club are open to offers. Juventus, for example, are interested and so are various Premier League teams. A more special case is Rafinha. The Brazilian's knee injury makes it difficult for him to find a new club in January.
