Winning the Copa del Rey not even worth a euro for Barça players

The cup only comes with a bonus if won alongside another trophy

In that scenario it's worth 250,000 euros, on it's own it's worth nothing

Barcelona don't seem to give much relevance to the possibility of only winning the Copa del Rey. Or at least that is what can be determined based on the bonuses to be paid to players for winning trophies.

The Copa del Rey is only worth something if it is won alongside another tropy, whether the league or the Champions League. On its own, the players will not be paid anything.

La Liga is worth 750,000 euros per player, with that amount increasing to one million euros if the Copa is also won. The Champions League is worth a one million euro bonus, while if it's won with the cup that goes up to 1.25 million euros.

Therefore, the Copa del Rey is worth 250,000 euros to the players, but only in the case it's won with another trophy -- the treble would have been worth two million euros per player.

Barça could still win the league and the cup this season under Luis Enrique. In that case, the club would be paying out around 22 million euros in bonuses -- the coaches work on much smaller amounts for winning trophies.

If they don't manage to win La Liga, that would just leave the Copa del Rey. The captains would be obliged to meet with the club before the game to talk about a special bonus if they do win the final against Alaves on May 27.

In any case, it's worth remembering this board is not exactly punctual when it comes to paying 'extras'. Take the Spanish Super Cup this season, for exampe, which they have still not paid the bonus for -- and they promised it would come before Jan. 30 of this year.
