Who's the neighbour who Luis Suarez's son likes seeing score goals?

The Uruguayan told a fun anecdote as he was awarded his European Golden Shoe on Thursday

Barcelona's Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez was given the European Golden Shoe award at an event in the city on Thursday.

His 40 La Liga goals led him to the prize, seeing off competition from Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronalo.

The Golden Shoe was delivered to him by his two children, Benjamin and Delfina.

And Suarez revealed a fun anecdote about his son's reaction to hm not scoring against Manchester City.

"Benja, asked me why I didn't score any goals [against City]," the 29-year-old said.

"But the fact our neighbour [Messi], who he knows and is friends with, scored three goals made him happy anyway."

Who's the neigbour Suarez is referring to?

It's no other than Lionel Messi, the author of a hat-trick in the Champions League win against Manchester City.

Suarez and Messi live next to each other in Gava, an area just outside of Barcelona on the coast.

The two families spend a lot of time together and the 'friendship' between Benjamin and Messi stems from there.
