Arsene Wenger says he expects them both to stay

Both are free to walk away next summer if they don't renew

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will not be sold in January, despite the fact both are out of contract at the end of the season.

Therefore, Arsenal risk losing them both for free in the summer if they do not sign contract extensions with the London club.

Asked before his side's game against Huddersfield in the Premier League this week if he'd thought of selling them this winter, Wenger said he definitely had not.

"As long as they are here, they give their best for the club," the French coach said.

"In my head, they stay until the end of the season. Unless something unbelievable happens I don't see that changing."

Asked about what happens beyond January, though, he was less clear: "I am not the only one to decide that. They have to decide that as well."
