Bayern Munich have dropped out of the race to sign Marco Verratti, PSG's Italian midfielder. The Bavarian club's president, Uli Hoeness made it very clear in an interview with Fox Sports.
"We won't pay €100 million for Verratti. Or €25 million a year to Alexis Sánchez. If we want to win the Champions League, we have to strengthen, but not at any price. We're all talking about strengthening and how we have to build the Bayern Munich of the future but if we sign 20-22 year old players we get criticised for it".
Bayern are one of the big clubs who were interested in signing Marco Verratti but they're not prepared to break the bank for the Italian and inflate the transfer market.
