Victor Valdes to join Manchester United as he continues injury rehab

Victor Valdes has been given the chance to train with Manchester United after his move to Liverpool collapsed.

The goalkeeper was not interested in a four-day trial at Anfield and instead may join the manager who gave him his debut at Barcelona at Old Trafford, Louis van Gaal.

He was at Carrington on Thursday and is prepared to dsicuss all possibilities.

A statement on the Red Devils' club website read: "Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has offered the 32-year-old former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes a chance to complete his rehabilitation from a knee injury and to work his way back to fitness with the club.

"Valdes, a free agent, will have his recovery supervised by the United medical staff before training with the first team, as he bids to regain full fitness."
