His agent met with PSG's sporting director in Milan on Monday

Marco Verratti’s agent has suggested the Italian midfielder wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer amid interest from Barcelona.

Donato Di Campli reportedly met with PSG’s sporting director Antero Henrique on Monday to ask him to facilitate Verratti’s exit from the French club.

However, PSG are reportedly unwilling to do business and will do whatever it takes to hang on to the 24-year-old.

“Marco to Barcelona? We've let all our thoughts be known to PSG, it's a hard deal to get done,” Di Campli told Sky Italia on Monday night

“I am trying to wield a champion, I ask those questions, and I pull on many threads. Anyone else in my position would do the same. You need to win to be a champion.

“If PSG doesn't wish to sell him despite the offers all around Europe, we then must take a look at ourselves.”

With Juventus also reported to be interested, Di Campli did play down the chances of a return to Italy: “The clubs there don't have enough money.”

Di Campli was presumably referring to the fee as PSG are going to want a huge amount of money for Verratti — and that’s only if they do give in to his request to leave.

Verratti is not trying to leave for financial reasons, but feels it’s time to further his career away from Ligue 1.
