Verratti's agent says he is a "prisoner of Emir" at Paris Saint-Germain
Al Khelaifi told Di Campli that he cannot sell Verratti because of Doha
Barça are desperate to land the Italian international but PSG won't negotiate
Marco Verratti's agent Donato Di Campli has made some explosive comments to Corrierre dello Sport, saying that the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is "a prisoner of Emir".
If on Thursday it was former PSG goalkeeper Sirigu who referred to Barça target Verratti as a prisoner, now it's the turn of the Italian internationa;'s agent.
"[PSG president] Al Khelaifi has told me that if they sell Marco they would never forgive him in Doha," Di Campli said. "Taking Verratti to Barcelona would be like taking [Francesco] Totti away from Roma.
"It's about Doha, where the sovereign of Qatar is based and he, among many other things, owns PSG. The fund is led by Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the emir of Qatar, whose financial resources are unlimited. Not selling Verratti to Barcelona for €100m has become a matter of pride."
The explosive comments from the agent come as PSG refuse to sell to Barça. Despite Verratti's desire to move to Camp Nou, the French club have denied him his wish and will not even listen to what the Catalan club have to offer.
