Verratti deal complicated and Barça will need Italian midfielder's help

PSG are not interested in listening to any offers for the player

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi rejected an offer of 55 million from Bayern previously

The operation to sign Marco Verratti is hugely complex. The Italian is one of the best midfielders in the world at the moment and Paris Saint-Germain, for obvious reasons, do not want to sell. Barça have sounded out people close to the player about a move, but it will have to be the player himself who forces any move.

For now, PSG have shut the door on any interest. Bayern Munich have made a move in the past. The German side offered 55 million euros but it was not even considered. The response from the Ligue 1 side was strong. There's no price for which they'd sell Verratti.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi wants to keep all of his stars, despite a disappointing season which saw his side infamously lose to Barça in the Champions League and miss out on the league title to Monaco. The project is wobbling and some of the star players, as is the case with Verratti, are thinking about leaving in search of sporting success elsewhere. Money is not to do with it.

BARÇA Fan

The midfielder is aware that PSG will put up every obstacle possible to stop his transfer becoming a reality. As of today, it seems unlikely there would even be a meeting between the two parties. The Paris side don't even want to talk numbers, regardless of how high they are.

In this sense, the player will have to take the initiative if he wants negotiations to start. Verratti would have to speak to Al-Khelaïfi and transmit his desire to leave for the club he has always wanted to represent. The ltalian has said on numerous occasions that he is a fan of Barcelona and that it would be a dream to play at Camp Nou on the home team.

ContraCt 2021

Verratti would have to leave the PSG hierarchy with no other choice than to sit down and talk with Barça. The Blaugrana know this is unlikely and that the fact the player has a contract until 2021 means they're starting in a weak position.

Barça are waiting for news from the player's agent Donadi Di Capli, who will plan his client's future. The player will have the most to say though and will have to do battle with PSG if he wants to leave France this summer.
