The coach isn't a fan of the constant comparisons with Real Madrid

He pointed out that one month ago it was Barça who were in 'crisis'

Ernesto Valverde's career as Barcelona manager is just getting started and he can't get away from the constant references to Real Madrid in every press conference.

The coach was asked about Barça's Clasico rivals ahead of Saturday's Catalan derby at Girona, but he prefers to focus on his own team than Madrid.

Los Blancos' poor results in La Liga -- no win in three games at the Santiago Bernabeu -- has caught the attention but Valverde admitted that he wants the focus to be on things which directly affect him and his team.

“It’s tough for me to respond to questions about Madrid," he said.  “I didn’t expect [their bad start] but I didn’t not expect it (…) I come from the other side of the wall: either you’re Barca or you’re Madrid (...) but I am getting use to it.

“I have an eye on all of our rivals… [Madrid] have lost games, but we will lose games as well. Some teams will be in crisis, others will come out of it. Then there will be autumn, winter, spring…”

RESPONDS TO ALL QUESTIONS

Always using a friendly tone, despite the nature of some of the questions, Valverde responded to every question put to him about Madrid.

"I don’t know how clubs deal with each ‘crisis’, a month ago the same was said about us," he said. "There’s always a lot of noise but what I care about is my team,"

He also didn't want to analyse the fact that Lionel Messi and Real Madrid both have nine goals in La Liga: "I don't count other team's goals, I want my team to score a lot. Later, the comparisons are for you [the journalists]."
