The Barça coach has been satisifed with his side's start to the season

On Wednesday they play Olympiakos in the Champions League at Camp Nou

Speaking ahead of Barcelona's Champions League game against Olympiakos at Camp Nou on Wednesday, Ernesto Valverde highlighted the spirit of his side during their 10-game unbeaten run.

"We are happy with how things are going," he said. "In the Super Cup we lost the two games against Madrid and we were in a difficult moment but we’ve picked up little by little.

"The fundamental thing for me is the two games in which we’ve had the disadvantage of going behind, Getafe and Atletico, two games we have come back in, even though we couldn't win the latter.

"That leaves good feelings. The team has spirit, it fights. There will always be problems. It’s easy when you’re in front, but when you have to come from behind you have to know how to compete."

THE PLAYERS, THE KEY

Valverde says it's the players who have allowed Barça to bounce back from that Super Cup loss: "We have really good players with great ambition who are capable of overcoming their worst moments. They’re the key, the players."

On the game against Olympiakos, Valverde is taking nothing for granted.

"Tomorrow’s game is an important game," he added. "We will try to put out the best players to win the game. Three points are fundamental to us right now.

"What worries me most about Olypmpiakos is their need to win after starting with two loses. They have enthusiasm, they compete until the end.. They will work hard in defence and they can surprise us on the counter. They have quick players in attack…"
