Valencia's request as Barcelona chase Paco Alcacer deal

Barcelona are secure in their belief that Paco Alcacer will sign for them next week, or even before. Valencia have given the OK to the move, but asked for time to find a reliable substitute.

Days of tension

Alcacer's move is not in danger, but Barcelona have gone through days of uncertainty, because of Valencia's institutional situation. The club owner agreed the transfer but the executives wanted to stop the operation - but the need for money is too large. Lim has now brought tranquility to the club and will keep his word with Barcelona. They will pay 30m euros, 5m more in variables, and the only thing left to decide is if Munir is involved in the operation. Alcacer has reached an agreement with Barcelona for a five year contract.

Barcelona hope that within 48 hours Valencia will ahve sorted out their replacement, which will allow Alcacer to travel for his medical and presentation. It's a question of formality now there is no rush because of the international break.

Alcacer could be presented on Monday before joining up with the Spanish national team. Luis Enrique thinks the player will fit in quickly at the club, because of the friendship he has with players there. Alcacer's arrival will coincide with the return of Neymar, meaning Barcelona will finally have their full quota of forwards.
