Lucho told the players they could score three goals in five minutes

But defender Umtiti admits Barça's season was ultimately a faiulure

Samuel Umtiti spoke to Radio Montecarloon Monday while with the France team. In the interview, he analysed his first season with FC Barcelona. "Collectively we have had good moments and bad moments. That's why we weren't able to win the league. Just personally, to have a first season like this, playing so many games, is very satisfactory. I have to progress in some aspects still, but I am on a good path. That's what I was looking for at Barcelona, consistency, playing a run of games. For my first season, it's gone well, although we haven't won any the titles we wanted."

Choosing the bestm oment of the season, Umtiti had no doubts. "The second leg against PSG was a great moment, a game which I will never forget. In the first leg we were way below what we should be. Surely we were the only ones that could think that we could turn the game around in the second leg like that. The Cavani goal did a lot of damage to us. It was a blow. Afterwards we thought about what the manager said. He said to us: 'Lads, even if there's only five minutes left, you can score three goals.' Honestly, he said that to us. It wasn't easy, but we found the mental strength to believe in the comeback. I don't know where PSG went wrong. They let us play and that wasn't the solution. We couldn't produce out best game, but when we scored it did them damage mentally and I think they gave up easily."

But the season didn't end as everyone wanted. There was no La Liga title or Champions League success for Barça. "At the start of the season, the objective was to win every trophy possible. To not win La Liga and to go out of the Champions League was a failure. We will work hard so that next season is better and we win all the trophies. As a Barcelona player that is what we must do every year."
