TV3: Ter Stegen to become Barcelona's undisputed No.1

Marc-Andre ter Stegen will be Barcelona’s starting goalkeeper for the 2016/17 season, according to Televisio de Catalunya (TV3).

Ter Stegen has won the battle with Claudio Bravo, who won the Copa America this summer, and the Chilean will have to put up with being second choice in La Liga.

According to the same report, Ter Stegen will be starter in all the important competitions next season, which will mean the league and the Champions League.

TV3 say the German has been promised as much after he reportedly agreed terms over a move to Manchester City in the case that Barça couldn’t assure him of a regular starting spot between the posts.

Therefore, Ter Stegen and Bravo will change roles - and then some. If until now Bravo has been the La Liga goalkeeper, while Ter Stegen has had to put up with only playing in the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, now it will be completely different.

However, it remains to be seen if Bravo will accept his new status in the first team or if he will opt to look for a new club. SPORT have already reported that the Catalan club will listen to offers for the Chilean

Bravo, who was chosen by Luis Enrique and Unzue when they were appointed two summers ago after Victor Valdes had left, has had offers from Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and could ask to leave Barça.

Remember that both Ter Stegen and Bravo have manifested their desire to be the No.1 in all competitions next season.
