Time to go? Barcelona open the door for several players to leave the club

Barcelona will begin to lighten their squad in the next few weeks, with up to four players expected to leave the club after helping Luis Enrique's side win the treble. However, they will leave seeking more minutes then they were given at Camp Nou last season.

Martin Montoya's case is the most clear. He almost left in January, when his agent revealed that he wanted to leave the club. Now, with Aleix Vidal's signing and Dani Alves's renewal, the door has closed on Montoya, who has hardly been used by Luis Enrique.

The right-back, who has a contract until 2018, has offers from Italian football, with both Inter Milan and Juventus interest in him. Barça will look to transfer, not loan him.

Another player who could be sold after only playing a limited role under Luis Enrique is Adriano. He, too, could find a home in Italy, with Roma prepared to offer him more game time. The Italian club made an offer in January (although Barça did not want to sell then) and will re-activate their interest. Barça will not prevent him leaving the club. They value his behaviour and his attitude while he has been in Catalonia.

It's a similar story for the third goalkeeper, Jordi Masip. The coaches say he is an example of dedication and professionalism, despite the fact he is behind Claudio Bravo and Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Masip has two offers from La Liga clubs and various offers from sides in La Segunda. There is also interest from abroad, but he has not accepted anything yet.

Barça will not force him out (the technical staff want to keep three goalkeepers) but if Masip receives an interesting offer, they will not stand in his way.

Douglas's case is different, because the club will try to loan the Brazilian instead. He's hardly played in his first season at the club, but has a contract until 2019. Barcelona continue to believe that he could be an interesting option in the future.

As for Gerard Deulofeu, he is about to finalise a move to Everton, where he has already played under Catalan coach Roberto Martinez during a loan spell in 2013-14. Barça will receive six million euros for the forward, although they will be able to re-sign him within the first two years of him leaving the club.
