Three Barcelona players named in Champions League Squad of the Season

Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, who both have six players, and Barcelona, with three, dominate UEFA's Champions League Squad of the Season. The 18-man squad was chosen by UEFA's technical team. 

Only German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Brazilian defender Thiago Silva (PSG) and Polish striker Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) have broken up the hegemony of the three La Liga sides. 

Of the Squad of the Season, five are Spanish (Juanfran, Gabi, Koke, Iniesta, Sergio Ramos), two are German (Neuer, Kroos), two Brazilian (Thiago Silva, Marcelo), Two Uruguayan (Suarez, Godin), one Argentine (Messi), one Portuguese (Ronaldo), one Welshman (Bale), a Frenchman (Griezmann), a Slovenian (Oblak), A Pole (Lewandowski) and a Croat (Modric). 

Here are the 18 players picked (two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and six forwards): 

- Goalkeepers: Jan Oblak (Atletico), Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich).

- Defenders: Diego Godin, Juanfran (Atletico), Thiago Silva (PSG), Sergio Ramos, Marcelo (Real Madrid).

- Midfielders: Gabi, Koke (Atletico), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), Toni Kroos, Luka Modric (Real Madrid).

- Forwards: Antoine Griezmann (Atletico), Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich), Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale (Real Madrid).
