Thomas Vermaelen still not ready to play for Barcelona after three months

Barcelona trained behind closed doors at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper with the upcoming Champions League clash against Ajax in mind. 

Luis Enrique's men take on the Dutch out fit at the Amsterdam ArenA and will be missing centre-back Jeremy Mathieu.

And, of course, centre-back Thomas Vermaelen. The defender continued to train on a specific area instead of participating with the full team session.

Since signing from Arsenal in the summer he has not played a single minute for Barcelona. Many looked at the signing with skepticism and it appears that is not unfounded.

Gerard Pique has been recalled to the squad for the game against Ajax.
