Thomas Vermaelen fit and could feature for Barcelona against Getafe

Barcelona's Thomas Vermaelen has received the green light to return to action and is ready for Luis Enrique for the rest of the season.

The Belgian, who has not yet debuted since a summer move from Arsenal, underwent surgery in December to solve a problem with the semitendinosus muscle in his right hamstring.

However, on Sunday Vermaelen was at last given the good news that he could return to playing football. 

He trained with his teammates in the morning following Barça's 2-0 win in the Catalan derby against Espanyol and he could be included in the squad on Tuesday agaisnt Getafe.

Barça paid Arsenal €10million for the central defender, with €5m more possibly due in variables.
