This is how Barcelona's defence will look against Valencia on Saturday

Pique and Alba are likely to miss out as Luis Enrique is forced to field a new look backline

Barcelona will have to shuffle their pack against Valencia in defence. After the unexpected injuries to Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba, Luis Enrique will likely go with a back four of Sergi Roberto, Javier Mascherano, Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne.

Pique's ankle and Alba's hamstring injury are two new problems to deal with. However, the positive news is that Roberto should be fully fit for the Mestalla. The right-back was given the all clear to play against Manchester City, but Luis Enrique preferred not to rush him back.

Digne has proved an able deputy on the left and will continue there, while given the performance of the defenders in the win over City, it seems logical that Mascherano and Umtiti will start against Valencia. Jeremy Mathieu, sent off for two yellow cards against the English side, is the alternative.

In the case of Aleix Vidal, it's unlikely he will be brought back into the side this week, although injuries could see him return to the bench.
