The reason behind Gabriel Jesus not moving to Barça

Gabriel Jesus had wanted to play at Barça, but will now move to Manchester City.

Barça, like Juventus, Bayern Munich and even City, saw the player as an investment for the mid term future.

As he did not form part of the Catalan club's thinking for the planning of the forthcoming 2016/17 season, they thought they would have time to formulate their offer.

However, the 32 million euros arriving from the Etihad Stadium speeded up the transfer process and left Barça without any room for manoeuvre.

When the player's agents received the first large proposal, they became blinded and convinced Gabriel Jesus of the deal, without thinking in what would be the best sporting destination for the individual.

Palmeiras, meanwhile, were very wise and recommended the forward's representatives to grab the petrodollars being offered to them.
