The curious gift given by Andre Gomes' father to Barça

The father of Andre Gomes is a supporter of FC Barcelona, and has been with his son at his presentation with the club.

He told Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu of his affection for the Blaugrana in their first meeting.

Bartomeu has invited him to the games at the Camp Nou, while Gomes' father has given the club's representatives an unusual gift, in thanks for signing his son.

He has presented them with a box of traditional Belem cakes.

They are little cakes of puff pastry and cream original to the Belem neighbourhood.

In the old days, Belm was an area separated from Lisbon, but in time has become included within the city's boundaries.

The food items have a secret recipe that is kept under lock and key since 1837.

Made in the "Factory of the Belem cakes", 20,000 are made each day.
