The conversation that earned Neymar Brazil's Olympic armband
Neymar will be Brazil's captain at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil's coach Rogerio Micale confirmed that the Barcelona star shall keep the armband, despite the doubts over who would be captain when the squad and numbers were announced a few days ago.
The coach revealed he had a conversation with Brazil's leader in which he was convinced Neymar was the best captain for his team.
"Neymar showed to be who the people see, he surpassed my expectations," he said. "A player like that is always loved on an internal level, he is a man with a big heart that embraces the boys that come for help."
Micale added: "Neymar showed he's a great athlete, a great man, a responsible boy who the group admires."
It should be recalled that Neymar was criticised heavily after the Copa America - which he did not play at - because he likes to party, and for his style of life.
