Barcelona have not had a lot of success recently in bringing La Masia talents through

Robert Fernandez put it like this. There are players in Barcelona B who will be part of the first team squad next season. After Sergi Roberto, scorer of the miracle goal against PSG, many have come but failed to make a big impact. Munir, Montoya and Samper, for example, who had to leave or go on loan. But this could change in a matter of months—that is the prediction of Barcelona’s sporting director.

Four players are nearly ready to take the step up to the first team squad. Two, seem sure. Midfielder Alena and centre-back Marlon. Then there is defender Palencia, who will have more of a chance when Luis Enrique leaves, as well as forward Marc Cardona. There is also the chance that goalkeeper Jose Aurelio Suarez could take the step up if Jordi Masip does not renew his deal. Then there are promising youngsters who are not old enough yet, like Mboula, Santi Bueno and Cucu.
