The Barça dressing room toughens up on collecting fines

A total of 11,000 euros were paid in fines last season in the Barça dressing room.

The majority of the punishments related to late arrivals to training or on matchday, there were no serious breaches of discipline.

This season, which began on July 19, has fortunately not yet seen anyone fined.

The most important point is that there are no longer any slow payers in the squad.

The captains of the team were firm in making sure that outstanding amounts were settled at the end of last season, and the decision has been taken to chase payment on a monthly basis from those players on the sanctioned list.

The 2014/15 season concluded with a player still owing 800 euros.

Just last season, there was a team member that delayed the payment of a fine for nearly six months, and the amount in queston was of just 400 euros, a paltry sum considering the wages of these footballers.

So from this season, the bad payers will have things a little more difficult if they wish to continue playing cat and mouse, though one of the worst culprits, Brazilian Adriano, will no longer form part of the Barça dressing room.
