The Aleix Vidal situation has created conflict inside the club

Luis Enrique is ready to move on from the right-back but the directors don't want to sell for any price

Aleix Vidal, the Barcelona right-back, continues without having chances in the first team. It seems that Luis Enrique, his manager, has ran out of patience with him and has therefore asked the club, in concrete Robert Fernandez, the sporting director, to look for a January exit.

Luis Enrique worked hard to bring Vidal in from Sevilla, but he has not matched the expectations his manager had. However, Luis Enrique’s desire has encountered a problem. It has clashed with the interests of the board. Josep Maria Bartomeu, the club’s president, and his directors aren’t willing to let Aleix Vidal go for just any price.

The board don’t want to lose money on Vidal, a player who has still not paid off his 20 million euros fee. They will only give in to Luis Enrique’s request if they are offered a good price for the defender.

Joao Cancelo is currently the first choice to take Vidals’s place and a swap deal could be possible with Valencia. Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin, who left La Masia at 16, is also a target
