Ter Stegen says he wants to stay at Barcelona

As revealed by SPORT on Wednesday, Marc-Andre ter Stegen has confirmed he wants to remain at FC Barcelona.

The German goalkeeper is set to start against Espanyol this weekend after Claudio Bravo picked up an injury in the win over Real Betis.

However, during his two years at the club, Ter Stegen has only played Champions League and Copa del Rey games, while Bravo has been Luis Enrique’s pick in La Liga.

It has prompted some awkward comments from the 24-year-old this season, as he has suggested he could leave the club if he doesn’t play more regularly.

In an interview with Barça TV, though, he has confirmed he’s happy at Camp Nou and does not want to go anywhere else.

He said: “I am very happy here and I want to stay, with the life that I have. It is a lovely place to live.”

Ter Stegen is in line for his sixth league appearance for the club in the Cataln derby, while he will also start the Copa del Rey final against Sevilla later this month.
