Ter Stegen: I don't understand the anger from the fans, we need support

The Barcelona goalkeeper was surprised at the reaction from sections of Camp Nou on Sunday

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen said he doesn't understand the fans anger towards the players.

There were jeers -- as well as moments of support and encouragement -- throughout the 2-1 win over Leganes on Sunday, which was marked by two Lionel Messi goals and several saves from ter Stegen.

"I don’t understand the anger from the fans," the German said after the match. "Everyone tried to do their best.

"The most important thing is to support us at these moments after the defeat in Paris. We need the supporters, above all at home. We win and we lose together."

On a week which featured a 4-0 loss to PSG in the Champions League, ter Stegen also admitted things have not been easy but he's now looking forward to a free midweek.

He added: "It’s been a tough week for everyone, without doubt. The important thing is that we won and that gives us confidence.

"There are always things to improve, but that’s normal in football. We have to think about resting now. Next week we have a really good game against Atletico Madrid."
