It was not possible to meet on Saturday but there has been a response to Barça

TAD say Neymar's ban is "immediately enforceable" and he can't play vs. Madrid

The soap opera surrounding Neymar’s availability to play in the Clasico rumbles on. After a morning full of speculation, Spain’s Court of Arbitration for Sport [TAD] finally made comment despite not meeting.

TAD informed that, despite having tried to, the could not get the whole committee together to meet on Saturday.

“We tried to convene for an extraordinary meeting this morning, but it was not possible in accordance with the requirements for a public body such as this," said TAD’s statement, as revealed on Twitter by journalist Isaac Fouto.

“Barça are also criticised for the timing of their appeal, which relates to the three-game ban Neymar was given after being sent off against Malaga.

“Said appeal was presented when it was public that [TAD] had already concluded their weekly meeting, as it had appeared in various media outlets,” the statement adds.

And it also says that Barça did not ask for the ban to lifted as a precautionary measure while the appeal is live: "The appeal does not request any precautionary measures but does ask [TAD] to declare the player's full availability to play the match [against Real Madrid].”

Finally, they make it clear that Neymar cannot play.

“The sanctions imposed by the corresponding disciplinary proceedings will be immediately enforceable without the claims and appeals that to paralyse or suspend their execution,” the statement affirmed.
