Suarez thanks Barça fans for their support

Luis Suarez knows it will be difficult to miss so many matches at the start of the season, but wanted to thank the fans for the support he received in Monday night's Joan Gamper Trophy win over Club Leon.

"The ovation I received in the Gamper is a reward that helps me to continue training each day so I can return that favour on the pitch,” Suarez told Barça TV.

He also spoke about how happy he is the Court of Arbitration for Sport have allowed him to train again.

"I feel like a footballer," he continued. "I can be with my teammates and be with them on a day to day basis.”

This is something which is very important as he looks to adapt to a new city, new club and new colleagues.

With respect to his role at the club, he suggested he is happy to play wherever needed, saying that he certainly does not consider himself a "static striker".

"I have played in all of the different positions in attack," he finished. "I’m not a striker that sticks to any set position.”
