Suarez: We laughed about all my missed chances!

Luis Suarez says he has a “very clear conscience” after being accused of starting a brawl in the tunnel after Barcelona’s recent Copa del Rey win over Espanyol.

The Uruguayan missed the second leg due to a ban handed to him by the RFEF after he appeared in the referee’s report inciting violence in the tunnel by shouting “I’m waiting here for you, come here, you’re all a waste of space” at the Espanyol players.

Barça appealed his two-game ban and still maintain a slim hope he could be available for the quarter-final first leg against Athletic Club on Wednesday, while Suarez remains adamant of his innocence.

“I don't know if I will play [against Athletic] but my conscience is very clear because I did not say anything," he said after the league win over the Basque club.

Suarez scored a hat-trick in the 6-0 win to end a mini-drought he said his team-mates had been laughing about.

“Strikers go through streaks," he added.

"I have to say I have been laughing with the team at the chances I've missed in recent games, because normally I score them.

"Against Athletic I had the chance to score three goals but the important thing is the victory."
