Sevilla fans whistle Barcelona defender Gerard Pique

History repeats itself. Barcelona defender Gerard Pique was once again whistled when he was on the ball during his side's game against Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

When it seemed like the fuss had disappeared, after the comments from Gerrard Pique and Spain boss Vicente del Bosque's defence of the player, the whistles were once again audible. Pique, who wasn't jeered by Celta Vigo's fans, was booed every time he touched the ball.

It's a situtation which got worse as the half passed, due to Pique's battles with some of the Sevilla players.

Remember that Pique had to endure whistles from Spain fans during national team matches in Oviedo and Leon. The FC Barcelona defender has defended himself, while Del Bosque has also supported him, but it seems some fans will continue to get on his back.

Among other things, the tide has turned against Pique because of his comments aimed at Real Madrid when Barcelona were celebrating the treble last season and further comments after this year's UEFA Super Cup. He has also said he "always wants Real Madrid to lose."
