Sevilla back in for Barcelona outcast Aleix Vidal

Monchi would like to bring the player back to the Sanchez Pizjuan on loan until the summer

According to Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla want to re-sign Aleix Vidal on loan, with the defender out of favour under Luis Enrique at Barcelona.

Sevilla, who have already been active in January, want to further improve Jorge Sampaoli's squad, although they will have to make room with all 25 first team salary spots currently occupied.

POSSIBLE EXITS

The club's sporting director, Monchi, who is preparing to leave Sevilla himself, is trying to get rid of some of the players who are not in Sampaoli's plans, such as goalkeeper Sirigu, who has an offer from Nice.

Also on the possible list of departures, according to the Andalusian newspaper, are Trémoulinas, Kiyotake and Krohn-Dehli.

Sampaoli wants to strengthen in defence, especially at right-back. Vidal is one option Monchi has put on the table and feels the player would provide the perfect competition for Mariano, who at 31 is not ideal for playing so many minutes.

LUIS ENRIQUE'S PLANS

Vidal, 27, would be a good option as he knows the club and performed well at the Sanchez Pizjuan when playing there during the 2014-15 season, before signing for Barça.

Monchi would look to do a loan deal with an option to buy as he knows the Catalan defender is not in Luis Enrique's plans.

So far, since the transfer window opened, Sevilla have signed centre-back Lenglet and loaned Stevan Jovetic from Inter.
